Leyla Okhai

Leyla is an experienced programme manager with over thirteen years’ experience in extending organisational capabilities. Strong communication skills enhanced through leading meetings with senior stakeholders, presenting complex data and writing in-depth reports. Adept at establishing new processes, policies and procedures to meet business needs and improve a given working culture and environment.

 

Leyla has experience planning the roll out of Unconscious Bias Training, Well-Being Action Plans and has created a Dyslexia Assessment Centre.  She has invented tool-kits for practical improvement and written funding bids, her on the ground expertise is valuable to organisations who want to make impacts at workforce level.  Her current role is Head of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Centre at Imperial College in London.  Former roles include:  Senior Equality Policy and Projects Advisor for the University of Oxford, Access and Outreach Co-ordinator for the University of Oxford and was the Vice President / Welfare Office at Leeds University Students Union.  She volunteers with Healthwatch and is Chair of the FE/HE Network of First Aid England.
